Chicken Store

March 27, 2010

Tonight mama said “go for ride”, and I got very excited, because! A ride means that you get in the car, and then you go, and then you end up somewhere else! Sometimes the somewhere else is not very exciting, like a store, but sometimes it is very exciting, like Camp Freedom! So we got in the car, and then we went, and this time, we went to a store. It was the flat cloth store – humans need to wear clothes, because they do not have fur, and the humans can either buy clothes already put together, or they can get flat cloth and put together their own clothes. Mama does not go to the flat cloth store very often, but when she does, she is in there for a long time. This time, she was in there so long that she said it was too late to make suppers. What? No suppers? But I am a hungry hungry puppy!

So we rode in the car and I thought we were going Home, but! We went to another store, this one had red and white stripes, and a big picture of a man in a white suit. I wonder what they sell here? Mama drove around to one side of the store and stopped and talked at a shiny metal thing. Then she drove around to another side of the store where there was a window. Then the window opened, and I smelled chicken! Lots and lots of chicken! Mama traded a green piece of paper, and they gave her a bag full of chicken!

This was a Chicken Store! Why hasn’t anyone ever told me about this? If I could drive the car, I would go to the Chicken Store every day! Oh, but I do not have green paper to trade, I wonder if they would take a tennis ball?

Camp Freedom Sleepover

March 14, 2010

This is how the adventure started – first mama stayed home all day to play with me! Even though I had not counted five days that she went to Work. Then the next day, she also did not go to Work! But then she put some clothes in a bag, and I started to get Worried. Then we went for a Ride, and we ended up at Camp Freedom! And! When we got there, I saw a turkey in the yard! So I chased him! I chased that turkey all the way into the marsh!

But then! Mama went Away, and left me at Camp Freedom! I did not know what to do! Normally when I am at Camp Freedom, mama is there, or gramma and granpa. So I sat on top of the couch in the front window, and Watched. Then after a while, granpa came home! And gramma! So I knew that it was OK.

I got to have a sleepover weekend at Camp Freedom – that was very fun! I patrolled the back yard, and helped granpa with Projects, and monitored the joggers and the squirrels. Keep moving, joggers! Keep moving, squirrels! I had suppers with gramma and granpa, and I slept on the floor by the bed. Granpa got up in the night, and I took his spot, ha ha ha! I let him have it back, though.

Then the next day, and the day after that I played some more with gramma and granpa! Once I went to the end of the driveway and looked down the road – that was the direction that mama went Away, maybe she would come back the same way. But Camp Freedom is very fun, there is so much to do! I did a lot of running, and I took naps when I got tired.

And then! Mama came home! I was very happy. I stayed very close to her, so she could not Escape again.

It is vey tiring chasing turkeys and squirrels and keeping track of joggers!

Granpa and me took a Nap after all our Projects

Do you want your chair back, gramma? But I am so comfy!

The couch is comfy, too - I wonder why gramma put sheets on everything?

Can I send an email to mama, please?

Gramma went to pick up Chinese supper - they said it would be ready in 10 minutes! Oh boy!

Ice Cream Bowl!

March 7, 2010

I like ice cream! It is a very tasty treat. My buddy Brusca liked ice cream too – she would lick it up daintily from any bowl. But I am not dainty! If I have ice cream in a regular bowl, I eat it all in one bite – chomp! Then gramma figgered out that if she puts ice cream in a small bowl and mashes it down, I cannot eat it all in one bite! She is very smart! Then granpa got me a special bowl just for ice cream! It is an excellent ice cream bowl, because! It is wide in the middle, but skinny at the top, so the ice cream stays in the bowl. So I have to lick the ice cream, but! Sometimes the bowl slides too much, and then I pick it up and move it to the carpet, where it does not slide so much. Ice cream, ice cream, yay!

Come Out And Play

March 6, 2010

Today there was a loud sound by the front door, it sounded like this – “MEOW! MEOW! MEOW!” Mama thought maybe it was the Evil Cat across the street. But then later when she talked to the Neighbor Lady, the Neighbor Lady said that she let her cat out, and it came running right to my door, and meowed like it wanted to play with me! I wish mama would have let the neighbor cat in to play, that would have been fun!
